Hi my name is Happy and I’m an alpaca. I came to Roxy’s House on September 12th of 2019. My previous owner could no longer care for me. I was hand-picked as one of the friendliest of our herd to come to Roxy’s House with my good friend Calliope. I LOVE other animals (especially cats). I love children, too. Like all alpacas, I’m kind of shy. I really enjoy when the people take me on walks on my halter. I’m the only alpaca here that gives kisses. I try to play with the pigs but they get kind of scared because I’m so much taller than they are. I sleep with the cats a lot.  My favorite is when he purrs when I snuggle him with my nose.  I love to eat hay and grass. I really enjoy story time when children read books to me in my pen. I’m the most friendly at large events and have a lot of patience when lots of kids want to touch my soft fiber.

Hi my name is Humphrey. I am a potbelly pig who came from Oinking Acres, an animal rescue in Indiana. My previous owner could no longer care for me. I was 8 months old when I got to Roxy’s House in June of 2019. I love people and I love belly rubs. My favorite food is bananas and my second favorite food is watermelon. I have a big personality and I tease people and make jokes a lot. I really enjoy my daily walks from the house to the barn and back at night, unless it’s really cold or raining. Water is not my favorite thing, I do not like swimming, baths, rain, or wet grass. My best friend is Effie the pig and he really loves water! So annoying! But I love the way he follows me around. I can do some tricks like sitting and spinning.

Hi my name is Calliope and I’m an alpaca. I’m Opie’s mommy. I was 7 years old when I got to Roxy’s House on September 12, 2019. My previous owner could not care for me anymore but I was chosen to come here with my best friend, Happy, because I’m so wise and gentle. My giant eyes stare into your soul.  My fiber is turning a bit gray because I’m getting a little older. I do not enjoy getting my toenails trimmed or the annual shearing of my fiber. I cry the loudest of everyone. Roxy says I have sensory issues. Happy and I were good friends at our other home and we got to stay together. When the humans clean our pen, I realize it’s an act of love and I’m very grateful.

Hi my name is Effie. I am a black potbelly pig who came from Oinking Acres, an animal rescue in Indiana. I was 7 months old when I got to Roxy’s House. I came with Humphrey in June of 2019. I am mostly blind and mostly deaf. My best friend is Humphrey and I love to follow him around and cuddle next to him to sleep. I LOVE water. I like to swim in my baby pool in the summer and I love to get sprayed by the hose. I will even sit in my water bowl and turn it upside down to splash myself. Just because I’m blind and deaf does not mean I can’t have fun! I’m really shy and sensitive, and the sweetest pig on the farm.

Hi my name is Opie and I’m an alpaca. My mommy is Calliope. I was born on September 3rd of 2018 at Aris Farm. I came to Roxy’s House on November 14, 2020.  I am on the smaller side for an alpaca, which makes me even cuter. I follow Happy around everywhere and do not like to be separated from the other alpacas. I’m the youngest alpaca and the only boy. My black fiber is very soft. I like to go on walks and especially like to escape the barn to find some sweet grass to eat on the lawn. I like when we get our pens cleaned. It’s enjoyable watching the humans work really hard to take care of us. I’m a sweet boy who likes people, but sometimes you can’t tell because I don’t always make eye contact.

Hi my name is Frankie and I’m a girl potbelly pig. I came to Blue Heron Ranch on Aug 10, 2020. I was 3 years old when I arrived. I had a very long drive here from St. Louis in the middle of a bad storm. I was very scared. My previous owner rescued me from a barn and socialized me until she could no longer care for me. She searched for just the right place and found Blue Heron Ranch!  I can run faster than the other pigs. I am a very vocal pig and make many grunts, screeches, and squeals. I am full of drama. I love my new life at Blue Heron Ranch where I can run, play, graze, and interact with the other animals. After a long wait, Humphrey and Effie have finally accepted me and let me snuggle them when we sleep

Hi we’re the barn cats and our names are Skunk, Marmalade, Baby, Bandit and Milo and Maisy. We came to Roxy’s House at different times, starting in October and November of 2021. Our personalities are all different. Skunk is the black and white cat. He is the king and meows the loudest for dinner and to get attention. He is in charge of all the cats. Marmalade is fluffy and gorgeous, but SURPRISE she’s the best mouse catcher! Us cats have thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas decorating in the barn. We LOVE the Christmas trees, lights and all the things to play with. Sometimes we “un-decorate” for the humans

Hi I’m a peacock named Liberty! I came from an animal rescue in Indiana, Oinking Acres.  I arrived in September of 2021 and was still a baby.  I free-range and go where I want on the farm. I hang around the house mostly, looking in the windows and waiting  for my favorite food, spaghetti. Sometimes I wander up to the barn to see if any kids are there. I lose my long beautiful feathers once a year but then I grow them back. I like to fan them and show off. I’m pretty friendly for a peacock, sometimes I even interact with the children from a short distance.
